Wonders

“‘Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders,'” says Elihu in the Bible in the book called Job (37:14).

In Psalm  17:7 David is speaking about the wonder of God’s great love.

In his prayer he is asking God, “Show the wonder of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.”

“Come let us sing of a wonderful love, …” encourages us Robert Warmsley in his hymn. Yes, let us sing about the love of our Lord Jesus  Christ.

Avis M. B. Christensen is the author of the hymn “Wonderful love that rescued me, …” God loved us so much that he rescued us from sin. Listen also to the beginning of the chorus: “Love found a way to redeem my soul, …”

And this is how J. G. Badger encourages us in his hymn. He says, “Wondrous love of Jesus! Spread the news around.”

The love of God is good news and we must spread it around.

“PREACH THE GOSPEL AT ALL TIMES. USE WORDS IF NECESSARY.”

I feel again and again that the Lord Jesus Christ is saying to me, “Listen to this, Werner; stop and consider the wonder of my great love I show you.”

What is the Lord Jesus Christ saying to you?

“Do you have a Good Story to Share?”

Today we received the local paper, the Northern News, and just now I am looking at page 13 and there it says, “Do you have a good story to share? Call us on (Phone number)”. O, how I like questions like that! The print is a little bit small and that’s why I overlooked that note, when I began to prepare this message for Christmas 2009. But I am glad, that I noticed it and yes, I have a good story to share. Just wait!

On the previous page I read, “We are always on the lookout for news stories.” The phone number again and also the email.

That is really good news for me. I like that very much!

But what the editor says on page 6 is tremendously encouraging: “YOUR NEWS COUNTS”. (email again!) Yes, I know, that my news counts. I am really glad to hear that. My NEWS comes from the Bible, the Word of the Living God. It comes from the New Testament, from the Gospel of Luke, Luke chapter 2:1-20:

I want to finish with the little note on page 2 of the same paper, where it is written that my opinion counts. “Your opinion counts. Send your letters to the Editor, Northern News, (Address).”

Opinions about the stories written in the paper.

It is my opinion, that the GOOD NEWS in the Bible, the Word of the Living God,  is the Greatest Story and the Greatest News!

It has always been the Greatest News. It is now the Greatest News . And it will always be the Greatest News.

Question:

Why don’t we find more about the Greatest News in our Daily papers?
