STOP

THERE IS A TIME FOR EVERYTHING.

IT SEEMS THAT THE MORE WE NEED A REST THE BUSIER WE BECOME. THAT INCLUDES ALSO OUR THOUGHTS. I DON’T KNOW THE REASON WHY! SOME PEOPLE EVEN THINK THAT IT DOES NOT GO WITHOUT THEM.

“STOP”

BUT THERE IS A TIME FOR EVERYTHING. THERE IS A TIME TO WORK AND THERE IS A TIME TO REST.

“WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED FOR?”

What a good question. I am asking myself now, “What do I want to be remembered for?”

An advertisement  in our local paper, The Northland Age, begins with the question, “What do you want to be remembered for?” The ad encourages people to be remembered for making a bequest to the Starship children hospital foundation. In the same paper I am finding the story of a Dr who is remembered for his commitment to children and the disabled. He is remembered for leaving a legacy of better health.

WHANGAREI: The hospital in Whangarei.

I am remembering my mother in law for her thankfulness, her gratitude for the smallest thing you ever did for her. I think she was so thankful for everything because she was a true follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was truly born again!

What do you want to be remembered for?

WINTER

WINTER: Survival kit for Winter.

The winter survival kit contains a set of tools and supplies to survive the winter.

There are financial winters. I hope you are not in a financial winter just now.

There are health winters. But who wants to talk about physical winters?

There are spiritual winters. Have you been in one of them?

Winters are disappointing. They are full of loneliness.

Loneliness

And what are now the tools and supplies to survive winters. They are the promises of God as we find them in the Bible.

Here are two. They are mentioning FIRE and WATER.

Isaiah 43:2: “WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE FIRE, YOU WILL NOT BE BURNED.”

Isaiah 4:2: “WHEN YOU PASS THROUGH THE WATERS, I WILL BE WITH YOU.”

Quote (German)

“Es ist nicht ausschlaggebend wie gross der Druck ist. Einzig und allein von Bedeutung ist, wo der Druck liegt: ob er sich zwischen mich und Gott draengt oder ob er mich naeher an Sein Herz bringt.” – Hudson Taylor
