THE POWER OF KINDNESS

“NO ACT OF KINDNESS, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, IS EVER WASTED,” is written on a bench. Everybody who is sitting down on the bench is bound to see the writing in big letters.. (You can see a picture of the bench in one of our papers, NORTHERN NEWS, Wednesday, November 15, 2017.)

What does it now mean to be kind? It means to be considerate, It means to be friendly. It means to be helpful.

An act of kindness has not only an effect on the person receiving the kindness, but also on the kind person.

THE ACT OF KINDNESS EFFECTS THE PERSON WHO IS RECEIVING THE KINDNESS.

In Proverbs 25:21,22 the Bible says:

SMOKE: There are also “burning coals”.

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing so you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you. (Romans 12:20)

THE ACT OF KINDNESS EFFECTS THE PERSON WHO IS KIND.

In Proverbs 11:25 the Bible says:

“He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”

An act of kindness is not only not ever wasted, but the Bible commands us to do acts of kindness. Read Ephesians 4:32, “BE KIND AND COMPASSIONATE TO ONE ANOTHER, FORGIVING EACH OTHER, JUST AS IN CHRIST GOD FORGAVE YOU.” (Colossians 3:12)
