“NOBODY CARES”

Is there really nobody who cares?

“Nobody cares,” was written in the back of the car, I saw this morning.

There was also a picture of a family  fleeing from some kind of a monster carrying a big stick.

The father of the family is in front pushing a pram without the baby. The baby has fallen out of the baby carriage. The mother is right behind the father and the other children are hurrying after her.

Reading “Nobody cares” and seeing the picture reminds me of the verse in the Bible, where it says in First Peter 5:7:

“CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY OF HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.”

CONDITIONS AND OFFER PERIODS

That “terms and conditions apply,” for those who want to “be in to win a Summer Getaway!” it says in a Health Store magazine.

At the end of mailers of shops you usually read, “Offers available instore from Tusday 7th November to Thursday 30th November 2017.” I am reading that just now  on the back page of a Farmers Toy Sale mailer.

I am also reading the Bible and I like the promise in the Old Testament in Isaiah 48:18,19, which begins like this:

“‘IF ONLY YOU HAD PAID ATTENTION TO MY COMMANDS, YOUR PEACE WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE A RIVER …”

In Isaiah 48:18,19 we read about our peace, our righteousness, our descendants, our children and the name of our children.

  1. “‘Your peace would have been like a river.'”
  2. “‘Your righteousness like the waves of the sea.'”
  3. ‘”Your descendants would have been like the sand.'”
  4. “‘Your children like its numberless grains.'”
  5. “‘Their name would have never be cut off nor destroyed from before me.'”

“‘Your righteousness like the waves of the sea.'”

But right at the beginning it says, “‘If only you had paid attention to my commands, …”

Let us never forget, that there is a condition. The condition is OBEDIENCE! But let us also always thank the Lord, that the promise is available not only for a certain time, but forever. Read also Matthew 24:35.

“ALL COVERED UP.”

“All covered up,” is the advertisement I picked up at the New Zealand Post Shop called. “Insure the things you can’t afford to be without,” I am reading also on the ad.

COVERAGE is “the extent of the protection provided by insurance,” tells me The Collins Concise Dictionary.

That in fact reminds me of the coverage provided by God.

Let us ask two questions.

Question number one:

What is the meaning of Justification? Our sins are forgiven, we are pronounced to be righteous and we are reconciled to God.

But there is more. We are dressed with the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Question number two:

What is prayer? Prayer is conversing with the Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer is having an audience with the King of Kings.

And how important it is  to be properly dressed when we are having an audience with a Queen  or a King of any country, but even more when we are having an audience with the King of Kings.

RIGHT OF ENTRY: Our only right of entry to the King of Kings is being clothed with the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

AND WHAT IS OUR ONLY RIGHT OF ENTRY TO THE KING OF KINGS?

We must be clothed with the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Only then do we have a right to stand before the creator of the universe. Please read Hebrews 10:19.

“I am covered over with the righteousness

That Jesus gives to me,

I am covered over with the precious blood of Jesus,

And he lives in me.”

is the hymn of an anonymous songwriter.

“WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT?”

“What am I supposed to eat?”  is the title of a book written by Dr Libby Weaver. The book is all about “Making sense of food confusion”.

Let us remember that there is not only physical food, but that there is also spiritual food.

PHYSICAL FOOD

In a magazine I am reading just now, someone is asked what his Secret Indulgence is. It is cooking. He likes to cook, not only for his family, but for everybody, and for as many people as possible. He says, the more, the merrier. He tells us also what his favourite recipe book is at the moment.

FOOD: “What am I supposed to eat”?

Who else likes to cook? I am doing the dishes.

SPIRITUAL FOOD

In Deuteronomy 8:3 is says that God is teaching us “that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Read also what the Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 4:4.

We are living “on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” I did not know that at one time in my life, but I thought I was living. But I did not really live. I started to live really when I passed from darkness to light. When that happened the Bible was no longer like any other book. The Bible became alive for me.

There is so much information about food for our bodies, but not very much information about food for our spirits. That’s why it is my desire to tell people about spiritual food. (Read more about spiritual food on this blog!)
