Intr.:
1. ‘Heaven is my throne, and

Character

“Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realise this. For the world was built to develop character and we must learn that setbacks and griefs which we endure help us in our marching onward.” – Henry Ford (Coffee News, Vol 128:4)
Please compare the above quote by Henry Ford with the following verses from the BIBLE, written by the apostle Paul to the church in Rome.
“And we rejoice in the HOPE of the glory of God.
(“…, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.” – NLT)
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and
character HOPE.
And HOPE does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:2-5 ( “And this hope will not lead us to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” – NLT)
Are those two writers not saying the same thing?
Please let me know!
Romans 5:2-5 is also a good outline for a sermon.

“Large crowds were traveling with Jesus , and turning to them he said:
Luke 14:25-27
Intr.:

does not hate his
1. father and
2. mother, his
3. wife and
4. children, his
5. brothers and
6. sisters – yes, even his
7. own life -
he cannot be my disciple.
B. And anyone
who does not carry
1. his cross and
2. follow me
cannot be my disciple.’”
