“Facebook for the Senior Generation”

I found this in our local Age Concern Oct/Nov 2016 newsletter. I like it and it is really funny.

“For those who don’t and cannot comprehend why Facebook exists:

I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles. Therefore, every day I walk down the street and tell passersby what I have eaten, how I feel at the moment, what I have done the night before, what I will do later, and with whom.

I give them pictures of my family, my dog, and of my gardening, taking things apart in my garage, watering the lawn, standing in front of landmarks, driving around town, having lunch, and doing what anyone and everybody does every day.

I also listen to their conversations; give them the “thumbs up” and tell them I like them.

And it works just like Facebook!

I already have four people following me: two police officers, a private investigator and a psychiatrist.”

GOALS

“Have goals to look forward to,” I am encouraged in our local paper. (The Northland Age, Tuesday, October 11, 2016)

It is one of “the ten keys to happier living.” About two pages in the newspaper are telling me about “Mental Health Awareness.” The readers are encouraged to “celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, 10-16 October 2016. That is right now.

KEY

KEY

Other keys to happier living are: “do things for others, connect with people, take care of your body,” and “keep learning new things.”

All this I remembered while I was reading my Bible today. I have almost finished reading the book of MARK in the New Testament. I started at the beginning of this year with GENESIS, the first book of the Bible, and my GOAL is to finish REVELATION, the last book of the Bible, by the end of this year. I hope I am going to make it.

What are your goals?
