“In Granddad’s footsteps,” I am reading in our paper. (The Northland Age, Tuesday, September 6, 2016)

The reader is not only told about one granddaughter who is following his footsteps, but there are two granddaughters.

That we must follow in Christ’s footsteps, tells us the Bible. “For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.” We find that verse in First Peter 2:21. (NLT)

In John 13:15 (NIV) the Lord Jesus Christ says, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”

In Philippians 2:5 (NIV) we are taught that our attitude should be the same as that of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What was his attitude? We read about his attitude in the verses 6-11 in Philippians chapter two. I notice the words “servant,” “humbled himself,” and “became obedient.”

I don’t know if anybody told the two granddaughters to follow in the steps of their grandfather, but I know that we are told in the Bible that we must follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ.
