MIND, EYES AND EARS

MIND, EYES AND EARS

In my reading through the Bible, the Word of the Living God, I arrived again at Deuteronomy 29:4, where it says:

_______________________________________________

“BUT TO THIS DAY THE LORD HAS NOT GIVEN YOU A MIND THAT UNDERSTANDS OR EYES THAT SEE OR EARS THAT HEAR.”

________________________________________________

The verse is sort of  ‘highlighted’ in my Bible with pencil and the words ‘mind’, ‘eyes’ and ‘ears’ received more black.

The mind is “the part of a person responsible for thought, feelings, intention etc.” That’s what the dictionary says. I have also learned that our body has five senses. Sight is one sense and hearing is another sense. (eyes and ears)

In Deuteronomy  29:4 we read:  “But to this day the LORD has not given you a MIND that understands…..”

The devil has blinded the minds of the unbelievers. That’s why they cannot see the light of the gospel.

And there are so many unbelievers around us. They cannot understand the Bible. Only the Lord can open their minds. Let us ask the Lord to open the minds of our friends who are not believers as yet.

Second Corinthians 4:4; Luke 24:45

In Deuteronomy 29:4 we read also “But to this day the LORD has not given you …… EYES that see…”

Only the Lord can open the eyes of unbelievers. When the Lord is opening our eyes, we can see the wonderful things in his word. (Psalm 119:18) The Lord is opening the eyes that are blind. (Isaiah 42:7) In Luke 24:31 we read, “Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him,…..”  If we want our unbelieving friends to come out of darkness into light, from death into life, we must pray like the apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:18:

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you,…”

And finally it says in Deuteronomy 29:4 “But to this day the LORD has not given you…. EARS that hear.”

Your unbelieving friends do not have ears that hear!

Ask the Lord to give them ears that hear, so  that they can say with Isaiah,  “The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears,…”  (Can YOU say that?)

Please read also Isaiah 35:5

We must pray that the Lord will give our unbelieving neighbours  a mind that understands.

We must pray that the Lord will give our unbelieving neighbours eyes that see.

We must pray that the Lord will give our unbelieving neighbours ears that hear.
