THE BOOKMARKER

When I walked into town today a small piece of paper lying on the road took my attention. I picked it up and was holding a beautiful bookmark in my hand. It was no ordinary bookmark. The whole of Psalm 23 was written on one side and it was almost like new. I am not in the habit of picking up paper from the road. Don’t get me wrong.
After finishing my business in town, walking home on Commerce Street in our beautiful town of Kaitaia, I met somebody I have talked to on a number of occasions. I offered the bookmark to that person – but was told that that bookmark was for me today. Very good!
Further on on the same street I ran into the retired teacher. He was headmaster in a school many years ago, where I taught BIS. (Bible in Schools) I have met him before here in Kaitaia. But this time he had bad news. His wife had died not long ago and he told me about another death and his best friend is very sick.
We talked of course about eternal life and he received the bookmark gladly. Psalm 23:1-6

On another occasion some time ago I found a brand new Christian magazine (“IN TOUCH”) latest edition on the side of the road. I delivered the magazine straight away to a man who lived in one of the next houses.

In my daily reading of the Word of God I have come to Numbers 12, where Moses has to deal with opposition.
Two things are said about Moses at the beginning of the chapter:
1. very humble
2. faithful

I am reading that in the book by John Wooden called “The Essential Wooden A Lifetime of Lessons on Leaders and Leadership”.
What does the BIBLE, the Word of the Living God say?

“it’s time to think about……”
In the shop window of the local pharmacy it says:
“it’s time to think about your skin”
You can buy Bio-Oil for your skin.
“it’s time to think about the sun”
You can buy NIVEA to protect you from the sun – different kinds.
“it’s time to think about your joints”
Joint zone is good for your joints!
“it’s time to think about your health”
And you need Fish Oil for your health!
I say: it’s time to think about your spiritual health.
In the same shop window it also says: “We need your help to stop heart disease TEARING OUR FAMILES APART.
Apart from heart disease SIN is tearing our families apart. Let us never forget that! That’s why I say it’s time to think about our spiritual health.
How is it with our relationship with our creator, the Lord Jesus Christ?
Do you have a relationship with God at all? You want to go to heaven, but you need help to get there. The BIBLE, the Word of the Living God says in
Isaiah 59:2
“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”
God wants a relationship with us. There is a distance between us and God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the bridge that can cross the distance.
First Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,..”
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
