VISION! COURAGE! LEADERSHIP!
Posted by Werner Dekarski in Uncategorized on September 18, 2009
Only yesterday I read that the words vision, courage and leadership are very important words in the world of business.
I am wondering now if those three words are also important for the church?
What does the Bible say about VISION?
What does the Bible about COURAGE?
What does the Bible say about LEADERSHIP?
LOVE (in Context)!
“If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with.”- Michael Jackson

A missionary was due to go on furlough after preaching the Gospel to a tribe on one of the islands in the South Pacific for a number of years. Before he went on furlough the people of the tribe asked him to send them Bibles, but they wanted only those Bibles with the verse “For God so loved the world”.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
Please read also John 3:17,18

First Corinthians 3:16,17
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.”
FAITH: Men’s Wisdom and God’s Power
IS YOUR FAITH RESTING ON MEN’S WISDOM OR GOD’S POWER?
A Brother in Christ told me this Story:

A brother in Christ told me this story: (it was in Mangonui)
The man had it in his heart to commit suicide. But there was still a little glimmer of light left in his life when he entered a church and hoped for help. - Nobody noticed him and bothered with him.
All the lights went out when he left the church. Later on he ran into a fisher of men (Matthew 4:19; Mark 1:17), a real soulwinner, and did not only find the Lord, but became an evangelist himself.

“For I resolved to know
nothing
while I was
with you except
Jesus Christ
and him crucified.”

HOW DO WE COME?
First Corinthians 2:1-5
Intr.:
I did not come….
I came…….
When I came to you, brothers,
A. I DID NOT COME WITH…
1. eloquence or
2. superior wisdom
AS I PROCLAIMED TO YOUR THE TESTIMONY ABOUT GOD.
(nothing except Jesus Christ and him crucified)
B. I CAME TO YOU IN…..
1. weakness and
2. fear, and
3. with much trembling.
MY MESSAGE AND MY PREACHING WERE
not with wise and persuasive words
but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,
End:
so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom,
but on God’s power.
Is your faith resting on men’s wisdom or God’s power?

3. behave decently, as in the daytime,
negative
4. not in orgies and
5. drunkenness,
6. not in sexual immorality and
7. debauchery,
8. not in dissension and
9. jealousy
Rather (let us)
positive
10. clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and
11. do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
End:
