W.W.J.D.?
Posted by Werner Dekarski in Diary on September 23, 2009
Eventually it dawned on me that it was a great tool for Personal Evangelism. But that happened only today! And of course a good reminder for Personal Evangelism as well.
I am talking about the wallet my friend showed me in Mangonui. That was actually some time ago.
But I am still thinking about his purse with the four letters W. W. J. D. ? written on it.
My friend did not only tell me that the letters are short for WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? , but that there is also a book with the same title.
Whenever the owner of such a wallet pays for something WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? comes to his or her mind for sure.
Yes, what would the Lord Jesus Christ do?
You know the answer!

Those two pictures remind of the following verses in the Bible:
Matthew 7:24-27
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS SPEAKING!
Something clicked with me this morning!
Something clicked with me this morning.
I was reading the evening portion in the book “MORNING AND EVENING – Daily Readings” by C. H. Spurgeon. He is expounding verse 23 from Mark chapter nine.
Today is September 23. In Mark 9:23 it says: ” ‘If you can’? said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”
All of a suddden a building here in town came to my mind, the building where I did my first computer course. The building is no longer in use, but the signs are still there. The building is on the main road and I don’t know how many times I have read what it says on the signs:
“Multiskill – Everything’s possible”
“Everything’s possible”
The Lord Jesus Christ says: “EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE……FOR HIM WHO BELIEVES.”
Do you have the book by C.H. Spurgeon mentioned above?
Read what he says there!
“DEBT WEIGHING YOU DOWN?”
Today I had business at the Westpac Bank .
I saw a piece of paper there with two questions. I am quite happy to answer those two questions.
Question Number 1
DEBT WEIGHING YOU DOWN?
NO!
Romans 13:8
“LET NO DEBT REMAIN OUTSTANDING, EXCEPT THE CONTINUING DEBT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER,…..”
Question Number 2
DO YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING?
NO!
Credit Cards, Hire Purchase, Personal Loans, Home Loans
See us now for simple ways to stay in control and save money.
There is also a picture – two people with happy faces running to a teller of the Westpac Bank. The teller has a sign with LOANS written on it.
“your church congregation”

“DID YOU KNOW?”
“Most people in your church congregation own a Bible, but not many of them may actually use it.”
I read that in the “WarCry”, the magazine of the Salvation Army. (18. 07. 2009)
On the same page is also an article by Commissioner Don Bell, in which he says: “The Bible is one of the keys to spiritual growth and vitality.”

The Road Not Taken
FUEL TIME
Posted by Werner Dekarski in Diary on September 22, 2009
I am not a vintage aircraft fan at all, but when a World War II flying boat arrived at the Kaitaia airport I went to see it. Unfortunately it was off to the nearby refuelling station when we arrived. Therefore my picture taking was not all that successful.
That was yesterday. Today I was again reminded of refuelling when I saw the big sign at the Abundant Life Centre. Right at the bottom you can read “FUEL TIME”.
Fuel is “something that nourishes or builds up emotion, action etc.” That’s what the dictionary says.
Just as the World War II flying boat needs to be supplied with fuel in order to fly, disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ need also nourishment regularly in order to function properly.
There is a Bible College in Germany where the students have the socalled QUIET TIME in the morning and in the evening. They also have to keep a record of their QUIET TIME. I know, I went to that College. And I am glad, I did!
THE QUIET TIME is Fuel Time!
A lot can be said about the QUIET TIME.
I found this in the book by Alban Douglas : “One Hundred Bible Lessons – The Quiet Time”: “D. E. Hoste said that they never knew which candidates that arrived on the Mission field would do well in years to come, for it all depended on how well they guarded their QUIET TIME.”
