“An Unholy Church”

“The worst evils which have ever come upon the world have been brought upon her by an unholy church.” – C. H. Spurgeon
That’s what I read this morning in one of his books: “Morning and Evening” – 26. 06. – Evening!
“Have you bought your ‘Big Wednesday’”?
Posted by Werner Dekarski in Diary on June 24, 2009
“Have you bought your ‘Big Wednesday’ “? I was asked today in a shop in town. Of course I did not really know what it was all about. I must have looked blank. It was explained to me, that 30 Million were to be won today. I did not even really know where.
“No”, I said, ” I have not bought anything. I don’t gamble.”
And when I saw the queue at Paper Plus, I went in and mentioned the ‘Big Wednesday’. There I was told that it is actually 35 Million. 35 Million must go!
I remembered Bible Verses I had read not very long ago. Here they are: Proverbs 30:8,9
“..; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread”.
Preaching on the Street
Posted by Werner Dekarski in Diary on June 24, 2009
Today I saw a man preaching in Kaitaia near the Post Office. When I got talking to him he gave me a very little booklet with his contact phone number. I read the booklet just now, only seven pages and written by a man called Edward S. Teiffel about “The Truth and Authority of Scripture.”

Not only a Trip to the Beach…..
Posted by Werner Dekarski in My Pulpit is the World on June 22, 2009

It was not only a trip to the beach today. I met up with two German tourists at Cable Bay and was able to share the GOSPEL with them. Romans 1:16,17 Please click on the address and read the two verses! The tourists were very responsive!
***************
I am actually a little bit reluctant to share P. E. (Personal Evangelism) Stories. Reasons are very obvious.
But only recently I met up with a local resident for the first time and it turned out that he was also a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and we prayed together standing on the footpath of the main road here (Commerce Street) in town.

Joy and Sorrow
Posted by Werner Dekarski in Diary on June 22, 2009
Today I read this proverb in the “Coffee News”, 22nd June 2009:
“Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.” - Swedish proverb
A verse from the Bible came to my mind. Here it is:
Proverbs 14:10
“Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.”
