I wept, because I did not have any shoes until I met someone who did not have any feet.

Was bedeutet alles, was dazwischen liegt?

I am interested in computers:

Nothing could be farther from the truth I read that a deleted file is gone forever.

Also an email is living forever.

Now I understand better when the Lord Jesus Christ says in Matthew 12:36, ” But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.”

LEST WE FORGET

Between one of the doors into Lynn Mall and McDonald’s in Auckland you can see a monument and on that monument you find the following writing: LEST WE FORGET

In memory of those who served and gave their lives.

When I was reading that today I was straight away thinking: LEST WE FORGET

IN MEMORY OF HIM WHO SERVED AND GAVE HIS LIFE!

I am thinking of course about the life of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

It is all very well to think about the people who died in the wars. I also lost my father in the second world war. I never knew him. Never met him. I have no memories of him. In fact I don’t even know where he died. Probably it was Czechoslovakia. May be it was not. Who knows?

So far as I am aware his name is not written on one of those monuments.

O K , we should not forget our dead soldiers who died in battle. But if we should forget, there are not too great consequences. There are also many like me who grew up without a father. It is sad to grow up without a father; but if you have to, you have to. I had to.

But if we forget the Lord Jesus Christ and what he has done for us there are eternal consequences. We are all living forever, either with the Lord in heaven or without him.

Because in order to stand before God, the Father, we need the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ, because we are all sinners. As we are, we cannot stand before God, the father.

On top of that, when the Lord Jesus Christ becomes our personal Saviour, God becomes our heavenly Father and looks after us. From my own experience I can say that it  is so good to be able to say, “My Father in heaven.”

BLOOD

p1030429.JPG

On the leaflet I picked up today was written ‘NZBLOOD’ with a drop of blood dripping from the letter N. It continued ‘Give someone a gift of life…..Give Blood At…. ‘ and then the place.

In this case it was the Kaitaia Children’s Complex. And then the exact time. (Day, Date and Hour)

I get from this that blood is a gift of life. Blood is life.

Some more important Facts on Blood

Each donation is able to help up to three people- blood donors are literally life savers. There is no substitute for human blood-healthy donors are the only source of supply.

The Bible in the Old Testament (Leviticus 17:11) says also,” For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.”

You ask now,”Why is blood necessary to make atonement (At onement, harmony)?”

God demands blood because he said to Adam,” for when you eat of it you will surely die.” (Genesis 2:17 at the end-first book of the Bible) Then sin came into the world and brought death in. The word of God must be kept. The Bible says that the life of the flesh is in the blood. And when God demands blood in other words he demands life.

We have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It says so in Romans 3:23,”….for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,…” I must die for my sins or find some substitute to die in my stead. Only Christ was without sin, and therefore he could be my substitute. God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son to die for us. Thank God for His love.

The Lord Jesus Christ died for me; and because he died for me, I love him. Because he died for me, I will serve him. He robbed death of its sting. He robbed the grave of its victory.

In sending His son to this earth God could be just and justify the ungodly.

Praise God!

14.07.07

The storm that hit Northland and Auckland has been described by Metservice’s Bob McDavitt as an ‘eggbeater’ phenomenon. This is caused by low pressure colliding with high pressure.

Two lows moved down the country close together . They squeezed against the high, blocking the lows’ movement. The resulting pressure gradient caused high winds. The unstable moist air mass of the lows released heavy rain on contact with the high.

Freedom

Psalm 119:45, ” I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.”

You are familiar with graffiti. Most of the time I cannot read it. But this time it was different. In big letters was written on the wall:” Take the law off our backs.”

Was that a cry for help? I think it was a cry for freedom.

Many years ago I read in Reader’s Digest and will not forget, what I read.” There is no real freedom without a sense of responsibility.”Who is right? The graffiti man or Reader’s Digest. Let the Bible, the Word of God be the judge. In Psalm 119:45 the psalmist says,” I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments,” And in the same Psalm in verse 32 he cries out,” I run in the paths of your commands, for you have set my heart free.”

So the truth is that there is no freedom without a sense of responsibility. We are responsible to the law of God and we must also be responsible to the law of the land as long as it is not in conflict with the law of God. Then we have real freedom.

Let me conclude with an example. The law of this country dictates that we drive on the left side of the road. What if that was not a law? You can imagine the results. And of course our heart wants to be set free and has to be set free.

When we allow God’s word to be a lamp to our feet and a light for our path it will be set free indeed.

Food for the Body and food for the Soul

Franchise NZ Vol. 7 Issue 2 Winter 1998 printed 8 MAC FACTS.

One of them says this: “One new McDonald’s opens somewhere in the world every six hours. ”

In the Christian Magazin WORLDWIDE July/August 07 I read the following: “According to our former international research director, P. Johnstone, WEC is the fourth-largest church -planting mission agency in the world. The last time we counted, a church was being started by WEC missionaries every four or five days , somewhere in the world.”

But food for the soul is more important than food for the body.

Praying to the Lord
In Psalm 116 it says at the beginning,” I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long a I live.”

The Lord is answering prayers. It says in the Bible “You do not have, because you do not ask.” That is in James 4:2 at the end. Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who are washed in the blood of the lamb, love the Lord and have a living relationship with him. The Lord is answering our prayers and I personally believe that he is giving us more than we ask for. Just two examples from my own life: I love books. I love writing. From early childhood it was my desire to have to do with books. Selling them etc. I do not know why. The time came during my Bible School Time that I had to sell books almost every evening for a certain time. I sold Bibles and other Christian books. So I did not sell any kind of books but I sold books for the Lord.

I also had the desire to become a teacher in a State School. I never managed to become one. I trained as missionary instead . But the Lord gives us more than we ask for. During my time with the United Maori Mission I did not teach any kind of subject in one school but I was able to teach the Bible in many many Schools in the Mid North of Northland (NZ).

So, let us rejoice.

The Lord is answering our prayers and most of the time he is giving us more than we ask for, because he knows best and better.
